When is the reservation chart prepared?

The reservation chart is usually prepared about four hours before the scheduled departure of the train from its originating station. For trains that have a multi-day journey, the chart may be prepared at different times for different stations along the route. The final chart is prepared after the last round of cancellations has been processed. Once the chart is prepared, online booking for that train closes and no further changes to the reservation status can be made online. Passengers can check the chart prepared status using their PNR number or through the IRCTC chart vacancy enquiry.
