Train Schedule FAQ

What is the difference between arrival and departure time?

Arrival time is the scheduled time at which a train is expected to pull into a station, while departure time is the scheduled time at which the train is expected to leave that station. The gap between the arrival and departure time is called the halt duration. For the source station where the journey begins there is no arrival time, only a departure time. For the destination station where the journey ends there is no departure time, only an arrival time. For all intermediate stations both arrival and departure times are listed. The arrival time tells you when the train will reach, and the departure time tells you when it will leave.
